Day 2: laughs and rain

OMG!!! I thought school was hard, but running around with kids is exhausting! I feel like I am dying… literally…And honestly, some kids can drive you insane. But for the most part of my time, I have fun with them. The rain today didn’t help much and we had to spend the whole day in crafting all sorts of things – from painting to custom bags. Well… you know whose idea was to design bags, right?

I am slowly getting to know more people who is living here and think that I will keep in touch with most of them. I spent the whole afternoon laughing my a** off with Clara. Her family also comes from a Latin American background and it was super fun to chat about how people from Mexico and Brazil are similar, but never tell them that!

Luckily, the sun came out in the evening and it was warm enough to have some time by the lake. The tan doesn’t look as good as I would like it to be, but I still have 13 more days to work on it ;)

Nite, nite,

JK

Work, work, work…

I am excited to tell you all about my latest adventure, but I need to ask you a question first: Wasn’t Victoria Beckham gorgeous at the Olympics closing ceremony?

It’s looks so good that you’d think this dress was made for her by Giles Deacon… Oh, wait! It was literally designed for her!!!!

Back to my latest adventure

I’m up north working at a summer camp! Yes, it’s very exciting, but only for the next two weeks… I’m not thrilled by waking up very early in the morning, but the kids are nice. Call me Activity Specialist!!! It’s sounds fancy, but it only involves leading some of the activities and making sure that the kids are being nice to each other ;)

My workplace is just gorgeous!!! And I’ll be taking a bunch of pictures and posting on Instagram. Hopefully, I’ll have some time to work on my tan and make new friends, since one of my least favourite people from school is working with me (I mean, I should have asked people if she had applied for the same position as well…).

Anyway, we are behaving in a very civilized way so far… so it will end well. I hope…

Olympic Fever

I don’t know about you, but I’m going nuts with the Olympics. As a good Canadian, I do also think that we had our gold medal stolen in Women’s soccer. Anyone who has played the game knows that you need a warning from the ref before being punished. And the handball? C’mon!!!! That was such an awful call!

I was proud of of head coach a John Herman and Christine Sinclair for calling it as they see it: the ref definitely played too much into the game’s result!

Oh.. well… heading to the bronze medal game then… and since you’re here for fashion, not for soccer, here are the best outfits spotted in London:

1. South Korea’s team uniforms

Look how these fitted jackets really hug the athlete’s bodies making them look good! They are no Spain! They are no Russia! These uniforms are so fashionable that I might apply for citizenship in South Korea just to be able to wear one of those! And the sailor inspired shirts, aren’t they lovely?

2. Great Britain’s team uniforms

Another keeper! So elegant and classic. I think that the british choice was right on!

Some people think that they look like they are heading to a business meeting. I honestly don’t see anything wrong with that! They are hosting the Olympics and they should look good… you never know, Spain and Russia might show up on their track suits! (ops!)

3. Kate Middleton

Speaking of dressing up to host a party, nobody has done it better that our adorable Catherine Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge. She showed up in the opening ceremony in a super classy Christopher Kane’s icy blue silk coatdress. And she has been dressing up according to every single event for the last 10 days!

From a designer dress to a $100 red Zara jacket!

I’m not that into the Royals, but Kate might just be my favourite one. And if she sticks with her modest but charming wardrobe, she may become my main inspiration.

So, how are the Olympic games treating you?

Girly Girl

Hey, I’m back!

Things are back to normal, so it’s time to bring some new findings to this catwalk ;)

If you’re wondering, I’ve spent the last two days just indulging myself with hours of Pinterest browsing and Teen Vogue contemplation. I am always impressed with the amount of time I can actually spend on both websites. But, hey, I’m on vacation! Don’t judge me and enjoy my latest pics:

I’m aware that we still have at least one good month of summer before the fall, but I thought this “recycled” scarf was too cute to ignore. You can buy it on etsy and keep it in your closed until September.

Gossip, sub tweets and some teenage drama

It’s not OK to share what you really think about your friends. It’s not OK to try to help… I’ve learned that the hard way!

I spent the whole day yesterday juggling a soccer game, a group of friends and a dramatic bestie who decided that being honest wasn’t the way to go. I don’t want to get all worked out about it, but I am quite exhausted by all this drama. First, it’s all the boyfriend stuff that was supposed to be great, now it seems that after listening to everybody’s opinions she started to have second thoughts about the whole thing.

Seriously, it’s supposed to be fun and simple! It’s summer… time to relax, flirt with people who are not from our school and think about next year! Soon enough we will be all away from home at university and summers like this one won’t happen anymore. Not even our soccer matches will be a possibility!

Anyway… I still think that getting all dramatic about one guy that wasn’t really worth it is too much! But things are get a little bit crazier if you take in consideration everybody’s opinion about what happened. I honestly don’t know how to deal with this whole situation and confess that I am just going on twitter to complaint about the whole thing.

During the school year, I am often complaining about the sub tweets that everybody sends. I am the type of person that will come to you and tell you if I don’t like something. It’s honest and it’s the best way to actually solve a problem. But in the last days, I’ve been sub tweeting the hell out of this situation. I’ve been grumpy about how shitty this whole back and forth thing is and how I find all this ridiculous!

It’s even more ridiculous when I stop and think about what is happening around me. Seeing a group of girls gathering around my best friend to tell her what she should be doing is just wrong. I know… she asked for your opinion, but I feel that nobody is listening to what she has to say. The sub text is: I like this guy, we broke up, please entertain me and I’ll pretend I forgot him. So girls, saying that he will regret and come back or she should have broken up with him in February won’t help. I know my BFF, she needs to just relax and move on…

So, I am saying it here! Listen and don’t overshare what is happening with the rest of the world. It’s not nice to create rumours and have your little friends coming to us to ask more questions about something that we don’t want to talk about. Something similar can happen to you anytime soon!

The black dress issue

We all need a black dress… if you have no money, invest in one really classy and cute basic black dress. If you have more money to spare, you may want to look at my picks from Pinterest ;)

1. Sheer chevron dress / Dior spring 2012Source: Uploaded by user via Jessica on Pinterest

Fabulous dress that I repinned from Mai Bri. I actually like a lot of the stuff that she shared online. The chevron print (or zigzag) got a minimal version in this beautiful Dior dress. So classy! #want

I’m here for a reason!

You know when your phone rings in the middle of the night with one of your friends upset because she broke up with her boyfriend? You know… that normal thing that happens, you call you bestie, cry over the phone for hours and done! The day after is the day that you go to school/mall/fill-in-with-common-hangout-place and ignore the guy? Well… I wish life was that simple! My friends never call. They keep that to themselves and/or stood me up and only after a lot of questioning let me know what actually happened!

You have no idea how much it pisses me off! Am I the only whining baby who calls people in the middle of the night when a crush ignore me? Am I the only one who gets mad with a break up?

Wish list: Things for my bedroom

I know… it has been a while…

With the end of classes I’ll be hanging out here more often. I have been keeping my pinterest boards up and running though. And, of course, the pinning is inspiring me with new stuff for my bedroom. Mom is going insane with my new obsession, but hey, she asked me to help around the house. I’m helping!

My board Cool Ideas has some of my favourite latest findings. Some creative and cute stuff that I pinned to go after in the next months. I might even get a job to pay for it, if my current allowance doesn’t go up ;) Shhhh… don’t share that info with my parents, OK?

Summer Breeze

The countdown to the end of the semester has started. I’m only 23 days away from afternoons by the beach, summer festivals and full days at Toronto Island. If you follow me on Pinterest, you’ve probably noticed that I am going crazy on the “My Style” board and adding a bunch of Summer stuff (dresses, necklaces, shoes). I don’t know where I am going to find the money to buy all the stuff that I want, but I’m expecting this summer to be THE SUMMER of my life!

Here are some of my recent finds:

1. Anthropologie’s Scattered Petals Dress

Be honest. Isn’t it super cute? Yes, it could be a bit shorter, but I love the pattern and how it looks. Mom would be surprised with this pick, but I love it!

Hello World!

Isn’t it how everybody starts a blog? Saying hello world?

I’ve never really cared about posting my opinions online before. But after reading the description of the university programs that I want to apply for, I realized that I should get on this digital stuff right away.

I am starting this blog to talk about the fashion world, celebrities and a little bit about my last year in high school. Classes are almost over, so I will be blogging about the Summer in Toronto as well.

So, Welcome to my world, World!
